Our “I heart HMRC” tee designs has been getting a lot of Twitter love. The design below received over 1000 views in the first 24 hours after posting. We reckoned that we’d give away the design in wallpaper format.

Perfect for a bit of hun-baiting in the workplace, college, school or home.

Below you will find wallpapers in the colours of Aberdeen FC, Celtic FC, Dundee United FC, Dunfermline Athletic FC, St Mirren FC and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. More will be added soon and upon request.

Her Majesty’s Rangers XI currently owe Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs money. A lot of money. Figures vary from source to source, but a conservative figure is £75 million. Already in administration and a potential liquidation and folding up of the club is a distinct possibility.

“Scottish football needs Rangers” is the phrase bandied about by lazy journalists. I’ll leave the stats and stories for the tried and tested web forums like theawayend.net or individual stattos on Twitter, like @SPLStats. But we will say that the last time Rangers were struggling Aberdeen and Dundee United thrived in Europe, whilst winning domestic trophies. Celtic and Hearts battled it out for silverware. Internationally Scotland were regular attendees at World Cups.

Anyway, enough historical chat. Let’s discuss the designs above.

The original idea came from a thread on AberdeenMAD. A regular contributor (TheRedPimpernel) created a similar banner to produce at Ibrox, pre-administration. The design has become a favourite with Aberdeen fans. It received much media attention with various websites reporting, including the BBC.

We thought if the design could be tidied up it would make a great t-shirt slogan, and with TheRedPimpernel’s blessing we’ve reproduced the design to a wider audience. This design is not exclusive to Aberdeen fans. This is a design for fans of every club in Scotland to show their displeasure and anger at the blatant cheating by Scotland’s most ‘successful’ club. It is our hope that fans from Inverness to Stranraer, will appreciate the sentiment and hopefully buy a couple too! The colour combinations will allow every fan in Scotland (and England).

FIFA 12 – Rob Milsom Edition

Been meaning to upload this for a long time and today we’ve finally got around to it. Rob Milsom is currently injured and will be for the remainder of 2011/12 season. So this has kind of became a ‘get well soon’ card.

Aberdeen for Change

The logo above is a vector version of the campaign’s original logo. Dolly Digital volunteered our services to help this campaign’s branding. We have created the logo and the flyers which are ready for distribution. We’ve also helped with the website creation (at this point in time it is a holding page but this will grow in time).

We could write a bit of blurb about the campaign, but the topic has been covered by various media outlets. We’ve chosen to quote the well-written article published on www.theawayend.net.

“The Red Army are set to change to black and gold, as they push for improvement at Pittodrie, writes Martin Currie.

‘Aberdeen For Change’ is the brainchild of the aberdeen-mad.co.uk message board, while other fans laid a COFFIN at the front door before the game on Saturday.

The black coffin was blazoned with the words “Thank You Stewart Milne” as disgruntled fans made their feelings clear after the Dons were once again rooted to the bottom of the league.

Organisers originally proposed the idea of a new group to fellow fans on Sunday, and since then have been inundated with support, offers of help and hundreds of followers.

Surveys are currently being run regarding different areas of the club so that the group can come to a general consensus; while a website, twitter and facebook page are already up and running.

The five main talking points the group are focusing on are: The board, the management, the squad, the supporters and the stadium.

A spokesman said: “I still need to create a plan based on the aims and objects to explain how things can be done. At this point, I think we’re still at the awareness stage and exploiting facebook/twitter/email etc to drum up the support.

“Over time we would like to start discussions – we need to be more constructive in moves for change. It’s little steps for now though.” He added: “Over 300 followers interested in 48 hours is not too bad.”

In a move similar to Manchester United’s green and gold scarf protest against their American owners, Aberdeen For Change have asked fans if they would be interested in buying a black and gold scarf to wear at matches.

However, they have made it clear that their group’s mission is not to get chairman Stewart Milne the sack.

30000 RedBubble Hits

Today saw the 30,000th visit to Dolly Digital’s RedBubble page in just over a year. We’ve also sold quite a few t-shirts. But 30,000 visitors got us thinking:

If Dolly Digital’s RedBubble page was a town, we’d be the North Lanarkshire town, Motherwell.

Mmmm, that’s not too impressive (no offence meant to the people of Motherwell).

So, what does the figure 30,000 represent?

Well, a 14 year old lived after a meteorite travelling at 30,000 mph hit him.

Mmmm, that’s not really relevant is it?

If Dolly Digital’s RedBubble page was a football stadium we’d be Championship Ipswich Town’s Portman Road.

That’s more impressive, but maybe it’s something we shouldn’t really be shouting about…

200 Hundred Designs Sold

Today saw the two hundredth sale of a Dolly Design on RedBubble. We’re not sure whether this is worth shouting about but we are quite happy that there are people out there that like our designs so much that they are prepared to part with their hard-earned moola…

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the support we have received. A big thanks to the friends of Dolly (and those we don’t know) that blog and forward our designs to their friends and followers. Of course, a MASSIVE THANKS to each and every one of our customers.

The 200th sale in question was the “Aitken’s Bakery” image below… In a bizarre twist this was also our 100th sale.

Aitkens Bakery Tee Design. A Tee for the Aberdonian ex-pat and home-bird alike. Features the memorable image that adorns the paper bag used to carry your bakery goods or eat from like it’s a horse bag.

Dolly Digital says: 2 weel-fired rowies w’jam… Affa affa fine…

Wikipedia says: A buttery, also known as a rowie, rollie,Aberdeen roll or ,Cookie is a savoury Scottish bread roll.

They are noted for their flaky texture and buttery taste (hence the name), similar to a flattened, round croissant, with a very salty taste. They are often eaten toasted with jam or butter, although the high fat content makes them extremely hot when toasted. The fat content is partly lard. In practice commercial production uses vegetable oils instead of butter.

As the alternate name of Aberdeen roll suggests, butteries are a speciality of Aberdeen but they are common throughout the North East of Scotland.

Although many believe they were created in the 1880s, to provide the growing Aberdeen fishing industry a type of high-fat roll which would keep for longer periods at sea than conventional rolls, there are articles in the Aberdeen Journal from much earlier in the 19th century bemoaning the increased use of lard in place of butter in the traditional “butter rolls”. Obviously, rowies existed much earlier than suggested.
